Does this sound familiar? You have yourself organized, you know the steps you want to take, things are going smoothly, you are handling the set backs and appreciating the successes...and then...it all stops! Anything could have triggered it. A bad mood, one set back too many, etc.

The question is how do we recover and get back on track?

Starting your own business, working on a major project at work, re-organizing your home, really anything it can happen. Getting going can be hard enough right? But now, here you are...stalled, bummed, aggravated...a combo of all three perhaps? This is part of the process. It does not feel great and it can very much feel that you are not going to be able to begin again. Well, don't throw in the towel just yet. Every process has ebbs and flows that we know. Let's learn how to make stalling a part of the process.

(1) ACCEPT

That's right, accept. Accept that it is going to happen. Accept that it will continue to happen.

Part of the acceptance is...

(2) PREPARE

Preparation. We must be prepared. What do we do when this happens? Do we lay down and

wait for it to pass? That is probably not the best solution. When we accept and prepare it is

easy to put together a plan of attack.

(3) PLAN

What is the plan? A few positive options are: Take a breath and remind yourself why you began this in the first place. Remind yourself the successes that you have already had. Keep

in mind that no one has accomplished anything without set backs.

(4) RECOVER

This is where you put your plan into affect. The important thing is to get back on track as

soon as possible. You do not want too much time to lapse. The longer you wait the harder

it is to start up again.

Repeat as often as you need to. Sometimes your plan needs to change. There will always be those times when things just aren't clicking. It does not mean that you have failed or that you need to give up or start over. Keep on plugging away and be in charge of the process!
